update Churn Dash SAL.....

End of June update............
Junes' been pretty hectic....Sheep work, shearing, visitors, trip north, starting a short course and sadly back to work.......loved my long service leave....Lucky I got in and got some sewing done right at the start as not much else has happened sewing wise.........
Over the long weekend I had brought the Churn Dash fabrics in and started cutting them on the end of the bench.....I got some cutting done.......they look a little washed out here they are richer in real life.......we had visitors and it was cold..........
EDIT: This pic above is pretty true to colour. Just not the first photo in this post.......
Since I got home I thought I better bring the background in and check it then I can start cutting............
woops.........I'm not sure.........do you think the fabrics at the bottom of the pic will stand out enough.......pinks, burgundies, greens, mustard & browns.........
will it work???? might need to make one......
Of course I already shared the double churn dash blocks earlier but since it is the end of the month putting it all together in one post........
While away I got a Lucy block finished.......took me two days in between baby distractions.....
I did work on a section of Miss Elizabeth after this but missing a pic.........
One of the pics from being away.........sunrise on the Barkly......This highway is one lane for maybe 80-90% or more of it..........and we had driven 250km before we passed a vehicle which you mostly have to get off the road to pass.........we had 4 more vehicles in the next 100km...........
I'm sorry I am way behind in blog reading but trying to catch up......no mobile service where we were so I have not read blogs since mid month........I will get there just busy with a few things......I have started with a couple..........slow and steady........
Catch you later..........
Chookyblue.........

I love your double churn dash blocks. Hard to tell with the fabric choice when they are not true to colour, you will be the best judge. From the photo the background looks a bit pink..Hope you had fun with the little grandson...and the big son.

Ditto what Lou said, no baby pics??
Don't stress about being behind reading blogs, all in good time. I am always behind, have a big session and catch up and 2 days later I am behind again.
Lovely fabrics and great photos.

Such a beautiful selections of fabrics! It sounds like you have been busier than busy. Sometimes there's just not enough time to do it all. Thanks for hosting the sew-along.

I just did a churn dash block last night with very low contrast, and when working with the vintage repro fabrics, I think having a few of those gives a more authentic feel.
Glad you had some quality baby time. Any pics to come of you and the wee bairn?
Hard to get back to “real life” after a nice break.
That is an amazing view of the road, and it sounds like an interesting journey.

Well done....

I can’t believe how quickly your long service leave passed. The best bit must have been the trip up north for baby cuddles. I agree with Janet. If only a couple of blocks are low contrast, it should be OK. You did well to get any EPP done while travelling.

I'm sure your colours will work

my gosh that road must be long and dreary!
Glad you got away and saw little bub!

They will stand out enough if there is contrast to the background fabric. It really depends on what it is next to.
I am loving your double churn dashes - still, and enjoying the SAL. I will be looking at my chickens to churn for July.

Hello and thanks for the 2 days zoom, it was so much fun. Look beautiful fabrics you have chosen there. For me here in Germany somehow unimaginable, to drive so long on the highway and not to meet a car, the madness. So nice to see how you are constantly getting ahead with your projects. LG Greetings Marika and a happy new week
