environmental lawn mowers and a new baby...............

some of the sick lambs we have brought home that have survived.............they know as soon as the gate is open...........they take off around the shed and into the garden............onto the bit of lawn.......there are about 13 of them too........I usually mow the lawn weekly but for the last 6 months or more it is more likely every 3-4 weeks if then..........
one of the 2 babies i brought home last night.............abandoned by Mum.........found in a paddock that does not even have cows in it............the blue is some spray we have been putting into their eyes if they have pink eye...............sleeping after breakfast this morning...............
even with temps like this work still needs to be done out side............
cows and sheep still need to be fed...........
MOST IMPORTANTLY READ THIS LINK
bit of a summary of some articles put together by the ABC...........have a read.............link it on your social media etc...........keep getting the news out there.........
&&&
I have just had to pop into town for more calf milk supplies and ran into a few neighbours.........yep they are struggling..........so many worries.....how do you sell stock that are not worth any money because the prices are CRAP.........sourcing feed and the cost of it.......water issues.....among many other things.......and still no acknowledgement by government that we are in drought.............
Catch you later

I'm so glad you have a little patch of green yard. I can't make it rain or help with the feed, but do you know of any avenues for helping families and/or women in the drought with those little day to day personal necessities?

Makes you wonder what is wrong with our government. Thinking of you and the other farmers at this very difficult time.

I was wondering the same thing as Susan, Chooky? Sharyn:)

I'd been wondering the same as Susan; there must surely be some small way we could help and let farming families know we're thinking of them.

I am sure local CWA branches would be happy to distribute 'care packages' to men, women and children. Each State has a head office in their capital city. I am also sure if you went to your local branch that they would contact their state branch for you - I know there were CWA initiated help programs during the fires and floods in the last couple of years.

I feel for you, after travelling to Ballarat and Lakes Entrance last week I suddenly realised how dry it was. The view from the plane was hard to describe. I hope you can keep positive in times like this

You must love that little bit of green and so must the babies.

Environmental lawn mowers are certainly cheaper and less work for you...as long as they don't pull the grass out.
Some care packages sound like a great idea Chooky

My heart goes out to you, Chooky, we have had 53mm and 19.5mm of rain over the last two days, not enough to make much difference, but there is grass, and I am flooded in.

I will say some more prayers for you.

They are shooting cattle out here, because they are just so poor condition.

I want to cry.

So gutting, that article is interesting, covers most of the angles, but sadly no solutions.
