Major commemorations today on the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli
Thank god I live in a country free of war...........
Record crowds have turned out to show respect for all current and past servicemen and women who have fought for the freedom we have today.......
I have always attended ANZAC ceremonies as I lost a great uncle in the Battle of the Somme World War 1...........

Lest we forget xx
Yes, today there have been many moments to reflect and to be thankful.
Lest we Forget.
We all need to remember to honor those who gave us freedom....
I crocheted some Poppies this year and gave a donation here in the UK. My Great Uncle was in the First War and was injured so was sent home. He was left with a permanent limp which I just remember as I was very young. He was considered one of the lucky ones, not sure how he felt as he never discussed it.
We are luckycompared to some parts of the world.

Always emotional watching the marches and ceremonies.....I admire some of the old Diggers who are determined to march the whole distance...good time for reflection.
Lest We Forget...
Lest We Forget. It has been especially moving this year with the 100th anniversary bringing out more moving stories.
Just a wonderful acknowledgement and remembrance of the supreme sacrifice made by those during war. So glad their memory lives on.
Here in Belgium there was also a ceremonie voor this day.
