Too tidy to find stuff........

so while I was on my long service leave I had a big tidy up.............somethings found homes..........others made it to homes that they rarely lived in.........
I found my sewing pouch after searching high and low.......in so many spots........under fabric, in bags, under quilts in boxes.........everywhere.......even looked in the house as Sue @ Kiwikid suggested knowing I had been sewing inside a bit lately.........thanks for looking girls but I found it in the draw that it is supposed to live in.........I had forgotten I was so organised.........
being organised caused so much frustration.......just where Lou @ Manxgirl said it would be in the last place I looked.......hhhmmmmm
Now if only I could find my yellow measuring tape that should live in this pouch........I think Fairy Girl may have been using that sewing her quilt last.........
&&&&&&
Now onto the progress of the weekend........lovely to see those who popped into the impromptu zoom......sorry if you missed it.......I made great progress on more churn dash prep but prior to that I had actually made more of the repro style blocks...........
Maybe I have June blocks up to date now..........
Its a bit like worlds collide with the brights beside them............but that's what happens when people send you different quilt ideas they found while deciding what to make for the Churn Dash Sew-a-long....
Its great seeing everyone's block popping up around blogland..........and I know many of you are also enjoying this too.......
Here they are on there own......most of the pink burgundies........i'll mix it up a bit with the next lot....I'll be travelling to a retreat this month so have a chance to choose some sashing and setting triangle fabrics...so really need more variety....I will look what I have first but not sure if I have something to suit..........could have a backing here though so that would help..........
And I also made another one of the doubles.........20in finished.....they are big.....
Weatherwise the weekend was glorious..........20-21 degC calm and peaceful......today a change came thru this morning and it's pretty windy and currently 13 deg that feels like 6......
shove more wood in the fire I say.........
This pic is most of the prep from the weekend at the front and I cut more grey strips today for the bright quilt...........I started making some of the 1/2 sq triangles for both and have brought them inside to press and trim up....(not in the pic)....a few here and there will get them done..........then I can start constructing more blocks.........
hoping to get caught up for July.........
How is everyone else going?????
I know some are well ahead and some I have seen nothing so lets get posting and share the Churn Dash love........💙💙💙💙💙
Catch you later.........
Chookyblue........

So glad it turned up. I have the same problem when I very rarely do a tidy up. I bet you even have fine blue thread in that ring I’d super bobs - something I’m lacking. Fingers crossed for the tape measure showing up soon. Love the churn dash blocks. It looks like you have the big ones prepped too. There’ll be no stopping you now

It's always in the last place you look, because when you find it you stop looking, LOL!! Good progress on your churn dash blocks!

Both churn projects are great ideas and so different. I tried the math on the double churns and that will turn out to be a big one! But love the bright colors.

I told you so! LOL Seriously though, glad you found it, so frustrating. The yellow tape measure will be somewhere similar.
Your churndashes are looking good.

Glad to hear the sewing pouch finally surfaced!
I'm not sure it pays to tidy up. I know where everything is in my mess (except for the things I can't find). LOL
How many of those giant blocks do you think you'll make?
I made a few more churn dash blocks today. Going camping in a couple of days, so I need to get crackin' and make more before I go!

Haha, tidying up is not all it's cracked up to be some times! Great churn dashes, stay warm by that fire. xx

Happy to hear you have June Churn Dates all done!! Maybe we can both have our July blocks done by mid August!! Aren't quilters a funny lot?? Love the double Dashes!! I find I get things all tidy and straight only to find that some quilter named Kris comes in and messes everything up again!! What's with that?? LOL!! Stay warm!!

Glad you found the pouch & am loving those double dash blocks. Asked Joy today if it was too late for me to join in & she said probably not. Would it be OK? I'd noticed Judy was doing them too. Thanks for sharing & running the QAL. Take care & hugs from cold & wet Gippsland.

Frustrating when you are trying to find something that should be where you thought it was! Churn dash blocks are all finished and the quilt put together, so will do a post sometime soon.

Love your bright ones especially - Hope you find the tape measure

I'm pleased to say I am up to date and sharing the blog love.

Now that you've found your pouch, I recognise it from SS Years Ago - yes I imagine you would be lost without it as it seemed to hold everything :-)
Awesome to see the line up of your churndashes - they all look great. I'm guessing the two styles are for different quilts - of course, how can you stop at just one!
Lucky you with a retreat coming up - have fun!

I like that you are making more than one. I think I need to tackle my chook fabric and make them into Churn Dashes for August.
