Swap etiquette..........

Found this post "Swap Etiquette" on Calimity Kim...........a fair bit to read thru but worth the read - even the comments................whats important to you in a swap?

.....I am planning my parcel for my SSCS partner and one thing is for sure she is overseas.........so my questions is

"what would be your favourite tidbit/extra to include in your parcel from Australia".......

...wonder who will get there wish................my lips are sealed but I am very excited about my SSCS partner..........as there are about 56 SSCS from Oz other aussies may peek here to see what you wrote so overseas girls tell us what you like..........give us ideas.........

.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue.........

Love your new header phot. Now if it were coming to me, I'd love an Aussie quilt magazine, bag of milk bottles, cadbury chocolate for sure. Could you squeeze my kids in the parcel?.....lol....

I'm not in the swap but thought I'd chime in anyway as I love reading the blogs from the Aussie ladies! I would love to have a stitcherie. Is that what they are called?? You can't really find them here in the states but I see them on blogs all the time. Like the Cinderberry Stitches ones I see all the time.
Hope this gave you some ideas!!

I like that good (not too salty) Aussie licorice, but that might be unusual. I'm on my way to visit my sister in Aus and she is asking for American marshmallows, sweetened coconut, and Rice-a-Roni!

tea towel from your local area, posts really well - light and you can fold it up real small and it is useful. or perhaps something that you really enjoy that is Australian, whether it is something to eat, a mag or whatever. and you can introduce your SS to it! (Love the new header)

I agree on the Australian stitcheries -- they're just not easy to find here at all and yet the projects we see on blogs from Australia are amazing!

If i'm lucky enough to have an Aussie partner then I'd love either a magazine or one of the gorgeous stitcheries I see you all do.

Love and hugs Gina xxx

That was a great post over at calamity Kim.
I love swaps, have two going on right now. What we girls love to have extra from australia....let see.....australian quilt magazines like Homespun and Country threads...or others perhaps that I do not know about. And what about thimbles from your area, don't we all collect thimbles.

Some very good suggestions, but on the other side of the coin what would the Australian girls like from this side of the pond?

The stuff that I think of would mostly be things that would remind me of my childhood - lollies and such. I have even corrupted my husband to the joys of Cherry Ripes;-)

Lifesavers - you can't get them here in the UK. Or Twisties. Gee, I'm glad I had a big lunch otherwise I would be off for a mahoosive snack attack!

On a crafting front I love the magazines (especially the Folk Art Australia one) or The Australian Woman's Weekly (FYI non-locals, it comes out monthly but strangely when they changed the publication frequency they didn't alter the name accordingly ;-).

Have just edited this to add (and this is my childhood tummy memories talking again) Castlemaine Rock! I shall be buying some at Christmas!!!

I've heard so much about Tim Tams and always wanted to try them. So far, none of my Aussie friends have sent any my way. I suppose some day I'll get a treat.

Hugs!

I think I will be glad for everything, but an Australian magazine, stitchery pattern or something special from my friend's area would be nice.

I would like to receive an Aussie mag, or a stitchery pattern made by an Aussie designer.

I am new to blogging and an Aussie.
I have read with great interest what the girls from other countries have said....and isn't it so true that we take for granted what we have sometimes....or just don't realise it? I was surprised about the stitcheries so I have tucked that one away into my limited memory bank...lol...
I think...like most others...something particular to your country or area would be great and we all spend time and love creating the handmade part of our gifts so that is the most perfect part for me!
Receiving a gift of any kind is exciting and special.
The post on Swap Etiquette was most interesting.
I am concerned that what I am giving is good enough as this is my first time so this has helped immensely.

I agree - australian stitchery is impossible to find locally. And I really love the homespun magazine - I don't think anywhere in the US carries it - even old back issues would be a delight. But on second thought - they would be heavy to mail. One of my partners sent me a travel brochure from where she lives - that was fun.

I would love anything that has to do with heirloom sewing... magazine, fabric, laces, trims, buttons, embroidery thread, etc. and then there's always candy!

I really like the stitcheries. My mom and grannie did them when I was small. A bit of wool to add to a dolly if they raise sheep. A photo of my partner Actually you could put anything in my present and I would be happy. Hugs.
